Student answer (Band 6.0)

Few individual assume that culture or character of people would be judged based on their selection of costumes. However, as every coin has two sides, I partially agree with this judgement and I will elaborate my both side opinion below.

As per the judgement to mention a lot about individual's culture and lifestyle based on selection of cloths, some communities are wearing the specific types of cloths to represent their culture such as The muslim communities wear the specific types of cloth while staying at home as well as going to mosque, which is the main example of possibility to judge some communities' culture based on their dressing sense. Moreover, some communities: goth, pride and many more breeds are representing their community by wearing different style of cloths as compare to usual human beings.

On the other hand, somehow I disagree with the judgemental view on character or culture based on individual's cloth choice. Because in the modern era, individual follows different trends influenced by film industries as well as social media culture and just to fit their self in modern era, people wear cloths not to represent their culture or character instead they try to fulfill their satisfaction or fit in current era by wearing different type of cloths or costumes.

To be concluded with I partially agree with the opinion of some people on judging person's culture or personality based on their selection of wearing cloths. Because few individuals wear specific types of cloths to represents their community as well as their culture but some wears different variety of costume to be seems like a film start or follow to social media trends or do the modeling.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position and providing reasons for both sides. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention cultural clothing and modern trends, the arguments remain at a surface level. For instance, the reference to 'goth' and 'pride' as 'breeds' is inaccurate and lacks clear explanation regarding how they represent character. To improve, you should expand on your examples with more depth and ensure that your arguments are fully explored rather than just stated. The conclusion effectively restates your position, but the overall development lacks the sophistication required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To be concluded with'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear; for example, the phrase 'some communities: goth, pride and many more breeds' is confusing and disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help you achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is often repetitive and sometimes imprecise. You frequently use the word 'cloths' (which refers to pieces of fabric) when you mean 'clothes' or 'clothing'. Phrases like 'selection of costumes' and 'breeds' are used incorrectly in this context. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of precision and the reliance on basic terms limit your score. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for clothing and personality traits, and try to use a wider range of vocabulary to express your ideas more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Few individual assume'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'fit their self in modern era'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of colons and commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and singular/plural consistency would be a great next step.
