Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position and providing supporting arguments. However, the development of ideas is somewhat simplistic and relies on broad generalizations, such as the claim that all Asians prefer bright colors or that dark clothing always signifies a strict personality. While the task is addressed, the supporting examples lack depth and nuance. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more sophisticated reasoning and avoid over-generalizing cultural or psychological traits, as these arguments can appear superficial.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is mostly accurate, though there are occasional lapses in flow. Overall, the structure is functional and allows the reader to follow your argument without difficulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'inauspicious', 'religious beliefs', and 'discipline'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'I completely agree to this essay' (should be 'with the statement') and 'clothes helps' (subject-verb agreement). Some vocabulary is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or precise lexical items that would elevate the tone of the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'clothes helps', 'clothes often tells', 'individual who wear') and pluralization. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are minor errors in capitalization and article usage. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve your writing.
