Student answer (Band 5.5)
The topic of some people say that it is possible to tell a lot about a person’s culture and character from their choice of clothes has become a matter of discussion in recent years. Some people believe that their dressing sense will reveal their identity, while others hold the opinion that only the choice of clothes can,t show their authenticity. I completely disagree with the following statement . This will discuss the reason to support my opinion.
To begin with, there are several reasons why I support this view. One of the major point is that most of the people choose western dress for their comfortness, because cultural dressup from different religion is not suitable for different geographical areas specially for terai region. For example if the sherpa's community wear their culture attire in geographical region like terai than they suffer from hotness and they cannot survive for one week too. So the western outfit plays significant role to improve people lives in summer season. This is important because western gears have more benefits for the people who lives in hot places. Therefore, this clearly supports my disagreement with the statement.
In addition, another reason to support my opinion is that western gears are easy and comfortable to wear. For example the attire from the different culture of nepal are difficult and leanthy to wear it tooks a lot of time to wear and we may get late to reach our destinations. Meanwhile, we cannot judge the person from their dressing sense. For example in our neighbourhood thereb is a boy who wears a drippy and hip hop type dresses and everyone get scared while he is romming in the village but he is one of the finest and pure heart guy in the village he wears such types of attire for his comfortness. This demonstrates that the idea has a negative impact which is why I disagree with it.
In conclusion, after considering the point discussed above, it is clear that I strongly disagree with the given statement. Both the reasons mentioned above prove that this idea is reasonable and problematic. Therefore, it should be support or reconsidered accordingly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly taking a position against the idea that a person's character and culture can be told through their clothes. However, the development of ideas relies heavily on repetitive arguments centered on comfort and practical weather conditions, specifically focusing on western wear versus traditional Nepali attire. While examples such as the Sherpa community and the neighborhood boy are provided, the reasoning tends to be somewhat narrow and over-generalized. The candidate successfully covers all parts of the task with a clear stance throughout, which places the response at a solid Band 6.0 in terms of task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, utilizing basic paragraphing effectively. Logical markers and cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To begin with', 'For example', and 'In addition', although some connections feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas within body paragraphs sometimes stalls due to repetitive looping back to the concept of physical comfort. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct arguments, ensuring the reader can follow the main train of thought without major difficulty. This performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'authenticity', 'gears', and 'attire'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation issues, such as 'comfortness' (instead of comfort), 'culture attire' (cultural attire), and 'hotness' (heat). Spelling errors and awkward phrasing appear occasionally, such as 'drippy and hip hop type dresses' and 'pure heart guy'. While these lexical inaccuracies and non-standard forms are noticeable and sometimes cause slight strain, they do not completely impede overall communication, meriting a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent errors with punctuation (run-on sentences, comma splices like '...for their comfortness, because cultural dressup...'), articles, and verb forms ('it tooks a lot of time', 'who lives' instead of who live). Punctuation is particularly weak, with missing full stops and improper spacing. Although the writer attempts complex structures, these constructions are frequently faulty. Because the errors occur frequently and can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the grammar score is Band 5.0.
