Student answer (Band 5.0)
The topic of t is possible to tell a lot about a person’s culture and character from their choice of clothes has become a matter of discussion in recent years. Some people believe that attire is their identity, while others hold the opinion that choice of clothes can't reveal their characters. In my view, I completely disagree with the given statement. This essay will discuss the main reasons supporting my opinion.
To begin with, there are several reasons why I support this view. One of the major points is that people wear different outfit for their comfort, most of the boy or girl used to wear dress from the western culture which doesn't determine whether they are good or bad in their character. For example, my friend rahul most of the time he wear western fashion attire but from his character he is priceless. This is important because with their dressing sense they can reveal their religious identity not the character one. As a result,. Therefore, this clearly supports my disagreement with the statement.
In addition, another reason supporting my opinion is that [INSERT MAIN IDEA 2]. This is mainly because [EXPLANATION]. For example, [GENERAL EXAMPLE OR OBSERVATION]. Furthermore, [ADDITIONAL EXPLANATION]. This demonstrates that [IDEA] can have a positive/negative impact, which is why I agree/disagree with the statement.
In conclusion, after considering the points discussed above, it is clear that I strongly agree/disagree with the given statement. Both of the reasons mentioned above support my opinion and demonstrate that this view is reasonable and beneficial/problematic. Therefore, [FINAL OPINION OR RECOMMENDATION].

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response partially addresses the task. The candidate takes a clear position against the statement, but the essay suffers from significant template use, notably leaving placeholders like [INSERT MAIN IDEA 2] and [EXPLANATION] blank in the third body paragraph. Furthermore, the body paragraphs contain contradictory statements, such as initially stating that clothing does not reveal character, yet later suggesting that dressing sense can reveal religious identity. While the student attempts to provide a personal example with their friend Rahul, the lack of completion in the final body paragraph means the ideas are under-developed. Therefore, this performance fits the Band 5 descriptor where ideas are limited and under-developed due to incomplete sections.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay has a basic organizational structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the presence of unfilled template markers and structural remnants (such as 'As a result,. Therefore,') severely disrupts the logical flow and progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but the third paragraph fails to deliver any coherent argument due to the placeholder text. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes incorrectly, leading to a breakdown in referencing. This overall pattern of flawed coherence and mechanical cohesion aligns with a Band 5 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, such as 'clothes', 'character', 'culture', and 'reason'. The candidate attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'attire' and 'priceless', but the application is occasionally unnatural or inaccurate, such as describing a friend as 'priceless' to mean morally good. There are also noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations throughout the text. However, the range is minimally adequate to convey a basic meaning, placing the response firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or faulty attempts at complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues in 'most of the boy or girl used to wear' and 'my friend rahul most of the time he wear'. Punctuation errors are also present, including stray terminal punctuation marks like 'As a result,.'. These errors occur frequently and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, matching the criteria for Band 5.
