Student answer (Band 5.0)
This world is full of different elements and one of them is culture. Culture is something defines your nationality, sense of living and values, but some people agree on this and give remarks others by just judging someone's culture and character. But I say that '' Don't judge a book by its cover''.
To support my upper statement , have an relevant example - which goes like this- the Hollywood actor , Priyanka Chopra which comes from an middle class family and belongs from a different culture , started from bollywood and working in Hollywood and she made herself so big that no external boundaries affects her socially, personally and in career. Though faced problems based on religion, culture and on fashion sense but she proved and now representing her culture worldwide.
Somehow somwhere in this world, people judge so quickly and sometimes its important , not because to give remarks negatively but postively, because if knows someone by their cultural look , its easy to know others boundaries and give respect as well as a sense of emotion and a culture attachment . This also increase respects, love and harmony between different cultures.
In conclusion , this world is full of different people with different thoughts but judging someone quickly is not appropriate. Understanding , loving , respect and care is the key to growth

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance against judging character and culture purely by clothing, referencing the adage "Don't judge a book by its cover." However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat confused. The example provided regarding Priyanka Chopra is loosely connected to the topic and lacks clear explanation as to how it relates specifically to judging character and culture through clothing choices. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, containing only 226 words. This under-length issue directly impacts the level of idea extension and results in a penalty under Task Achievement. Consequently, the score reflects an inadequate development of the prompt requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is divided into four paragraphs, which provides a basic structural framework, but overall logical progression is weak. The introduction introduces the topic and stance, yet the transition into the body paragraphs feels abrupt. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or awkward, as seen with phrases like "To support my upper statement" and "Somehow somwhere in this world". Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion of the body paragraphs lacks clarity, making it difficult to follow the line of argument. Referencing is occasionally confusing, detracting from the overall readability of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive. While the student attempts some less common expressions such as "external boundaries" and "cultural attachment," these are often used unnaturally or with incorrect collocations. There are noticeable lexical inaccuracies, such as "give remarks others" instead of "make remarks about others" and "increase respects" instead of "increase respect." Spelling errors are also present, including "somwhere" and "postively." The lexical range is minimally adequate for the task, but vocabulary limitations and word choice errors restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex sentences contain grammatical errors and faulty phrasing. Examples include "Culture is something defines your nationality" (missing relative pronoun) and "if knows someone by their cultural look" (incorrect subject and verb usage). Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect spacing around commas and quotation marks. While meaning is generally retrievable despite the frequent grammatical errors, the heavy reliance on faulty complex structures keeps the grammar score at the lower band.
