Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many individuals believe that it is possible to recognize a person's culture and character from their clothing style. I disagree with this view. My arguments will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
On the one side, individuals think it is easy to tell about a person's culture from their attaire. This is because of their clothing style. Some individuals follow their traditional rules and wear clothes according to that. For instance, many woman wear hijab, and from that people get an idea about their culture. Furthermore, some individuals are shy, because they are not comfotable in revealing clothes. That can shows their personality. Therefore, it is possible to know about person's character from their clothes.
On the other side, some masses aregue that it is hard to judge someone from their clothes. This is because people like to style themselves. They want to follow fashion trends. They maybe following some actors or actresses to look more stylish. Therefore, it is hard to tell about their character from their dresses. Moreover, some masses wear formal clothes to offices. Due to offices have strict dress codes. Since, they are restricted to wear unprofessional clothes. It is complex to tell about their culture and personality.
In conclusion, there are many factors to judge someone. However, judging someone on the basis of their clothes is not fair. Since, they are only trying to follow their work place rules. Also, they love to try diffrent kind of fashion styles. It does not give an idea of their personality or culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that clothing does not necessarily reveal culture and character. The writer attempts to support this viewpoint by presenting arguments on both sides, discussing traditional clothing and personal style. However, the development of these ideas remains somewhat limited and superficial. For instance, the mention of the hijab or shyness is introduced but not fully extended or elaborated with deep explanation. Similarly, the counter-argument regarding workplace dress codes touches upon a valid point but lacks robust expansion. Overall, the task is addressed with a clear stance and relevant, though somewhat basic, ideas, aligning well with the descriptors for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a concluding paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is at times mechanical and repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on transitional phrases like 'On the one side' and 'On the other side'. Additionally, some referencing is slightly imprecise, for example, the pronoun 'That can shows their personality' creates a minor cohesion and grammar glitch. While the progression is generally easy to follow, the mechanical nature of the links keeps the response at a Band 6.0 level.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday ideas related to fashion, culture, and personality. There are several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'attaire' instead of 'attire', 'comfotable' instead of 'comfortable', 'argue' spelled as 'argue', and the awkward phrase 'some masses'. Despite these inaccuracies and occasional spelling slips, meaning is rarely impeded, and the writer does attempt some less common items like 'fashion trends' and 'traditional rules'. This performance fits comfortably within the Band 6.0 descriptor range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though simple structures tend to dominate. There are several noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('That can shows'), spelling-derived word errors, and preposition or article inaccuracies ('Due to offices have strict dress codes'). Punctuation also shows occasional lapses, such as missing spaces after periods. However, the errors do not impede overall communication, and the writer manages to express complex ideas despite occasional structural faults. This warrants a solid Band 6.0.
