Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is believed by some people that individual can be judge by their choice of clothes. I personally think that clothes can describe person's dressing sence and may be culture but not thier character. I will explain in upcoming paraghraphs.
There are some reasons why people think that culture can be describe by person's outfit. Firstly, diffrent culture have diffrent attiries which makes individual to understand more clear about their traditions. For example, India has many culture but their diffrent dressing code makes them special and gives more specific ideas. As a result, person can easily identify thier culture. Even, remembering thier cultural clothes is good way for a future reference.
However, it is impossible to define person character from thier outfit. There are diffrent way to identify person nature. Individul characteristiics can be describe from their behaviour, action and most importantly thier communication. these are the characteristic can defenitely useful to know more about person's rather then from thier clothes. Although, dressing sence can be descibe their choice of clothes but that does not reflect thier nature. Wealthy perosn can be polite or may be not and same goes with moddle class person. Best way to find out about individual character is by talking to them insted of make a decision from their clothes.
To sum up, I agree that clothes can be useful to identify individuals culture and tradition, but character can not be describe from thier choice of clothes. Character can describe from their behaviour towards other people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, taking a clear and consistent position that clothing can reflect culture but not character. The main ideas are relevant and generally easy to follow, but some development is uneven. For instance, the paragraph on culture mentions India as an example and notes that different attiries make it special, but this point remains somewhat superficial rather than fully extended. To reach a higher level, the ideas need deeper elaboration with more specific, well-developed examples that substantiate how clothing directly relates to cultural identity. Nevertheless, the position is well-maintained throughout the essay, meeting the expectations for this band perfectly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate different arguments, with an introduction, body paragraphs focusing on culture and character respectively, and a conclusion. However, cohesion at times feels a bit mechanical or repetitive, particularly with transitions like 'Firstly' and 'However', and referencing is occasionally imprecise. For instance, phrases like 'these are the characteristic can defenitely useful' create mild tracking issues between sentences. To progress further, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure smoother progression between sentences and paragraphs without relying on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating the central message, but the range is quite limited. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'traditions', 'attiries', and 'characteristics', but there are noticeable errors in word form, spelling, and word choice throughout the text. Examples include 'sence' instead of 'sense', 'diffrent' instead of 'different', 'attiries' instead of 'attire', and 'moddle class' instead of 'middle class'. Furthermore, collocations are occasionally awkward, such as 'make a decision from their clothes'. These errors indicate a restricted lexical range where spelling slips and word choice inaccuracies are frequent enough to prevent the writing from achieving a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, such as 'There are some reasons why people think that culture can be describe by person's outfit.' However, attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, and there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples of structural and agreement errors include 'individual can be judge' instead of 'individuals can be judged', 'thier culture' with inverted vowels, 'culture has many culture' (lexical/grammatical confusion), and 'Character can describe' (missing passive voice). Punctuation and verb forms also show instability. These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally pause, placing the text firmly within this band.
