Student answer (Band 4.5)
There are many people who think that person's outfit can represents their culture and identity. I strongly agree with this thought.
There are many reasons to prove this point. Firstly, every country has a different culture and clothing styles therefore, individual citizen from perticular country can be easily identified. Secondly, some culture has adopted the unique outfits because of their religious beliefs. For instance, many hindu people wear orange cloths whereas muslims often wear black cloths. Similarly, geographical location also decides the individuals clothing pattern. For example, peolple from cold countries such as russia and canada wears thick coats and winter hats which make it very easier to find out about their culture or country of residence.
However, clothing also represent the person's profession. As many corporate employees wear formal outfits onn the other hand skill trade peop

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response responds to the task only minimally and fails to meet the required word count of 250 words, stopping abruptly mid-sentence. While the writer manages to express a clear position and gives some basic reasons regarding culture and clothing, the ideas remain underdeveloped due to the severe lack of length. The third body paragraph breaks off before completion ('As many corporate employees wear formal outfits onn the other hand skill trade peop'), preventing any full discussion of counter-arguments or additional supporting evidence. To improve, you must develop your main points fully and ensure you complete the task within the word limit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The essay displays a basic overall structure with paragraph breaks, but the information and ideas are not arranged coherently through to a conclusion. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic, relying on words like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly', but referencing and logical progression break down completely toward the end as the text trails off incomplete. Paragraphing is attempted, yet the final section is entirely cut off, hindering the overall flow. To achieve a higher band, you need to ensure that every paragraph is fully completed, ideas are linked smoothly with a wider variety of cohesive ties, and the essay follows a logical progression from introduction to a clear conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, struggling with accurate word choices and collocations. Examples like 'represent' instead of 'represents' (in 'outfit can represents'), spelling errors such as 'perticular', 'cloths' instead of 'clothes', and 'peolple' hinder lexical control. There are also awkward phrasings like 'skill trade peop' due to the incomplete sentence. The range of vocabulary is minimally adequate for conveying simple ideas, but noticeable errors and limited lexical variety restrict the score. To improve, incorporate more precise vocabulary, check your spelling carefully, and use less common lexical items accurately without relying on basic, repetitive terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammar demonstrates a very limited range of structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences alongside a few basic complex attempts that contain frequent errors. There are noticeable mistakes in articles, plurals, and prepositions, such as 'individual citizen from perticular country' (missing articles) and 'russia and canada wears' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation and sentence formation break down significantly towards the end where sentences are left unfinished. To move up to a higher band, you need to produce a better mix of error-free simple and complex sentences, monitor your subject-verb agreements closely, and eliminate frequent grammatical slips.
