Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are countless types of clothing available across every part of the world which says a lot about the great history, culture and possibly character about that specific person. I am from India which is very diverse country with over 100 cultures with unique clothing and history. I agree on this claim that choice of clothing says a lot for example There are specific type of clothing that old people wear in India like over sized top long enough to cover upto knees and then very loose lowers. Just looking at that clothing it is most likely that the individual is of traditional culture rooted in traditional Indian fashion then a character with intermediate to high level of wishdom. If an individual is wearing a turban then he is from a sikh relegion and follows that specific culture. He is a friendly and a funny character. This things are not only limited to India if we talk about in general western dominant trends of clothing, it says a lot as well like if a person is wearing a ironed formal pair of clothing with polished office shoes and tie, This things will convey the consistancy and hardworking character along with a good cultural background.
As much I try to agree with this statement theres always a time where this things could be misrepresented like some of the very successfull peoples like late sir Ratan Tata always wear casual worn out clothes possibly creating a false narrative around instead of showing how wealthy and reputed he is.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that clothing can reveal cultural background and character, while acknowledging that it can sometimes create a false impression. The Indian examples of traditional dress and a turban, followed by formal Western clothing, address the question and provide relevant support. This meets the task well, and the qualification about Ratan Tata shows some awareness of complexity. However, several claims are asserted rather than explained—for example, that traditional clothing indicates wisdom, or that a turban-wearer is friendly and funny. These generalisations need careful qualification and stronger reasoning. To develop the response further, explain what clothing can reasonably suggest, distinguish cultural identity from personality, and extend the counterexample to show how far your agreement is limited.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a discernible progression: it introduces your agreement, gives examples from India and Western workplaces, and then qualifies the claim with a counterexample. This overall arrangement helps the reader follow your main line of thought. However, the ideas are compressed into one paragraph, so the shift from Indian clothing to Western formal wear and then to the exception is not clearly signposted. Linking phrases such as “for example” and “if we talk about in general” are sometimes awkward or repetitive, and “This things” does not clearly refer to a single idea. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting examples, and qualification, and make references explicit. More precise transitions would make the progression smoother rather than relying on a long sequence of connected claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “traditional culture,” “formal,” “polished,” and “false narrative,” and you attempt to describe clothing and the impressions it creates. This gives you enough range to communicate the main ideas, but several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors reduce precision. For instance, “intermediate to high level of wishdom” is unclear, while “a friendly and a funny character” makes a broad personality claim rather than describing an impression. There are also errors such as “relegion,” “consistancy,” and “successfull.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases and avoid using elaborate wording when a simpler expression is clearer. Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise terms would make your argument easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “As much I try to agree,” and your main position is generally understandable. However, control is uneven: several sentences contain errors in agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “which says a lot” does not agree with the plural “types,” and “I am from India which is very diverse country” needs clearer clause punctuation and an article before “very diverse country.” The final sentence also runs together several ideas, with a comma where a full stop or conjunction is needed. Practise building accurate complex sentences, checking singular and plural agreement, and using punctuation to separate complete clauses. Greater control would make your reasoning clearer.
