Student answer (Band 5.0)

Judging someone from their clothing has created tremendous impact on our society in very bad way. Well, according to my belief it is partially true that someone can be easily judged from the clothes they wear which i have discussed in this eassay written below.

Normally, in societies some peopple follow cultural practices such as in hindu religion, preach wear orange color outfits to when they perform any holy rituals same like in other religions such as, in muslim culture they wear black clothes. Moreover, many cultures in this universe for instance Jewish always wear small caps on their back area of the head from which they are easily recognised.

on the other hand, some people who do not perform any holy activity or are not in such work ,they wear normal clothes which does not easily identified about their personallity or culture. not every individual is completely following their culture and have freedom of wearing any kind of clothes which is in recent trends and cannot be easily judged which culture do they follow.

In conclusion, never judge the book by its cover.Always ask the person before making any opinion about them which could surely help in reducing conflicts in the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a partly clear position by saying the claim is “partially true,” and your examples of religious clothing—orange garments during Hindu rituals and Jewish skullcaps—are relevant to how clothing can signal cultural or religious identity. However, the response addresses the question only partially: it focuses mainly on culture and gives little explanation of what clothing can reveal about a person’s character. The counterpoint that people may choose modern or ordinary clothes is useful, but it is asserted rather than supported with a specific example. The conclusion offers a sensible caution against judging people by appearance, though it does not fully resolve your position. The response is also 49 words below the required minimum. Develop both sides and explain your examples more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about cultural clothing, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. The contrast introduced by “on the other hand” helps signal a change in viewpoint, and the examples are grouped broadly by idea. However, progression is limited because the discussion moves quickly from religious dress to people who do not follow traditions, without explaining the relationship between these points. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, such as “Moreover” before another example and “In conclusion, never” without appropriate spacing. Paragraphing and capitalisation are inconsistent, and references such as “they” in the final body paragraph are not always clear. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to your main position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “cultural practices,” “holy rituals,” “recognised,” and “freedom,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. For example, “preach wear orange color outfits” does not express the intended idea naturally, while “created tremendous impact” and “normal clothes” are imprecise in context. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “eassay,” “peopple,” and “personallity.” Aim for precise phrases such as “clothing can signal cultural identity” and “traditional attire,” and check spelling carefully. Avoid broad or unclear expressions when a specific term is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a relative clause in “which I have discussed in this essay” and a contrast between people who follow traditions and those who do not. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “it is partially true that someone can be easily judged from the clothes they wear” has an awkward grammatical pattern, and “which does not easily identified” is missing a verb form. Agreement and sentence construction are also problematic in “many cultures … Jewish always wear” and “which culture do they follow.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention, especially at sentence beginnings and around commas. Practise building accurate complex sentences and checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
