Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is believed by some individuals that nowadays it is really easy to identify people's personalities by looking at their outfits. While i strongly agree that its not difficult to judge people by their way of clothing,I also believe that the individual personality characteristics are not based on how they dressed.
There are many reasons why i say that people's behavior are more link to their way of dressing and their choice of wearing clothes. The prominent reason is that people are more often to wear clothes who are link more to their culture, religion and their surroundings. For example ,in India people are more likely to wear salwar kameez ,kurta pajamas in sikh culture ,burkha in muslim religion etcetera. In India people are more open minded and have their welcoming nature. They are more talkative.Secondly, traditional clothing means people are more care about their culture and religion .They also follow the rules and regulations what their ancestors taught them in past and they never break rules. They are also willing to accept the real life challenges like their ancestors and freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India.
However, there are some reasons why i believe that individual 's behavior is not depend on the choice of clothing. The first and foremost reason is that some people like to listen western culture songs, like to eat foreign food, speak foreign languages but lwear their own traditional clothes. For example ,in many Muslims countries most of the women prefer to wear long gowns as their part of their culture but that not means there are no restrictions on their likes or dislikes. They are open to try different culture food, able to fulfill their dreams ,learn different languages etcetera.
In conclusion,I would like to reiterate that although i strongly agree that person's personality is depend on their way of wearing clothes,I also believe that somehow not all behavior is depend on the choice of clothes they wear.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear, though somewhat qualified, position: clothing can suggest cultural background, but it does not determine every aspect of personality. The examples of traditional dress in India and Muslim countries are relevant, and the second body paragraph usefully explains that people may retain traditional clothing while enjoying other cultural influences. However, the link between clothing and character is not always convincingly established. For instance, describing Indians as “more open minded” and “more talkative” based on clothing makes a broad generalisation, while the point about following ancestral rules is not fully explained. Develop each example by showing precisely what clothing can indicate and what it cannot reliably reveal.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. Transitions such as “However” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument, and the main position can be followed throughout. At times, though, the progression within paragraphs is less clear: the first body paragraph moves from clothing choices to national character, then to respect for ancestors and freedom fighters without fully connecting these points. Some linking phrases, including “The prominent reason” and “The first and foremost reason,” feel formulaic, and the conclusion repeats the introduction rather than drawing the argument together. Use clearer links between each claim and its example, and vary referencing so the relationships between ideas are explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “traditional clothing,” “culture,” “religion,” “ancestors” and “challenges,” which makes the subject clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “welcoming nature” and “freedom fighters.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “people are more often to wear clothes” and “more care about their culture” do not sound natural, while “behavior” is repeated frequently. Some expressions, such as “foreign food” and “different culture food,” could be more precise. Aim to learn common word partnerships and choose terms that express your meaning exactly; this will make the argument sound more fluent and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “although,” “but” and “while,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur across the response. Examples include “people's behavior are,” “behavior is not depend,” and “person's personality is depend”; these need forms such as “behaviour is” and “does not depend.” The opening also joins sentences without a space after “outfits.” Capitalisation and apostrophes are inconsistent, as in “i,” “its” and “individual 's.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these structures would make your ideas easier to follow.
