Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people judge personalities and culture by individual's appearence. Although dressing choice can relates to a person's culture to some extend, I believe character of people depends largely on their upbringing and practical implement of education.
First, the dressing sense of a person express their cultural and traditional values, making it possible to judge their ethical backgrounds. For instance, in an international cricket match different countries people wear different dresses according to their culture at stadium making it easy to jugde which person is Pakistani and which one is British. Nevertheless, many youngsters do not like to wear old fashion outfits regardless of their culture, so it does not crucial to depict culture by appearence.
Secondly, a choice of outfit cannot fully express the character of an individual because personalities highly depend on the development of children and how their parents raised them. Moreover, the educational background of people make them good humans not their dresses. For example, a highly qualified officer may dresses ordinary but knows the moral and ethical values and how to impose his knowledge for the well-being of the society. Therefore, it is rediculous to judge people'character by their choice of clothes.
In conclusion, although dressing sense depicts the cultural values and ethical backgrounds of people, judging their personalities and characters by their clothes and appearence is highly unfair. A person's character depends on his knowledge and experience

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: clothing may offer clues about cultural background, but it is not a reliable way to judge character. You address both parts of the question and support your points with examples, including national dress at a cricket match and the qualified officer. However, the cultural example mainly shows how clothing can identify nationality, while the claim about upbringing and education shaping character would benefit from a more specific explanation or personal example. The point about young people rejecting traditional clothing is relevant but briefly stated. The response is also 18 words below the required minimum, so there is less space to develop these ideas fully. Extend the examples and explain how they support your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different aspects of the argument, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Secondly,” “Nevertheless,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the progression. The contrast between cultural clues and judging character is also generally easy to understand. To improve, make the links between claims and examples more explicit; for instance, explain directly what the cricket-match example demonstrates about culture, then connect it to the limitation you identify. Some transitions feel mechanical, and the conclusion repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Clearer referencing and a little more development within each paragraph would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “cultural and traditional values,” “ethical backgrounds,” “upbringing,” and “well-being of the society.” These choices allow you to discuss both culture and character, and the meaning is generally clear. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “practical implement of education,” “dressing sense,” “old fashion outfits,” and “rediculous” are not natural or accurate in context. “Appearence” and “jugde” are also misspelled. Aim for more conventional expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, “educational influence” is clearer than “practical implement of education.” More accurate collocations would help your vocabulary sound more controlled and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the opening and a subordinate clause in “because personalities highly depend on the development of children.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “dressing choice can relates” has an incorrect verb form, while “the dressing sense … express” and “the educational background … make” show subject–verb agreement problems. There are also issues with articles and sentence construction, as in “a highly qualified officer may dresses ordinary.” Review agreement, modal verb patterns, and article use, then proofread each sentence. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your varied sentence structures easier to read.
