Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate over whether person can judge by their clothes or not. Some people believe that it is common to talk about anybody in that way, while others argue that skills and knowledge cannot describe by clothing sense. I disagree with given statement.
First and foremost, the most compelling arguement is that clothing style is depends on person's mentality. This is undoubtedly true because some people are not facilate from clothes, as different people have distinct hobbies. Knowledge and skills can not reflect in garments, they are ways to measure it. For example, chess is the game of mind so there is not recruirement of suits of anykind of sports clothes. Consequently, clothes is not something that discribe intelligence. Therefore, it is proven from that facts that people should not judge others by their clothing style.
On the other hands, there is different believe of others that person can be easily judge by its clothes as they believe that clothes reflects first impression and first impression is last impression. It is true untill certain condition because someone can not go for interview with casual clothes. There might be higher chance of getting rejected. It depends on civic sence, which generally people have in this modern society. People wearing cultural clothes during cultural festival, weddings or some other important days is good thing to do. For example, gujrat has choli and kurta for navaratri festival, while south indian prefer lungi for their festival. Conequently, people can easily talk on others culture and importance through clothes.
To conclude, whilst, it is true that people can judge others by their clothing style at certain level, the skills can knowledge can not describe through the fashion sense. Hence, I disagree with the given sentence which suppose to mean that clothes would be better option to talk on others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree that clothing can reveal a person’s character, while acknowledging that it can offer clues about culture or create an impression. The examples of interview clothing and regional festival dress are relevant and help address both sides of the question. However, the main argument about character is less fully developed: the chess example shows that clothing does not measure intelligence, but it does not explain as directly why clothing cannot reveal other aspects of character. The discussion of cultural clothing is more specific, yet its connection to your overall disagreement could be made clearer. Develop each point with a fuller explanation and make the distinction between judging culture and judging character explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “First and foremost,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the progression. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or unclear. For example, “Consequently” and “Therefore” repeat the same concluding function in the first body paragraph, while “whilst” in the conclusion is followed by an awkward comma. The shift from clothing and intelligence to the chess example also needs a clearer link. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each example directly to the claim it supports; clearer referencing would also help the argument flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “first impression,” “cultural festival,” “mentality,” and “civic sense,” and the reader can generally understand your ideas. However, several inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors reduce precision: “clothing style is depends,” “not facilate from clothes,” “talk on others culture,” and “recruirement” are examples. Some expressions are also vague, such as “skills and knowledge cannot describe by clothing sense.” Choose more natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For instance, distinguish between clothing that “reflects cultural identity” and clothing that “reveals character,” so your vocabulary expresses the argument more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “as,” and “while.” This gives the response some structural variety, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are noticeable. Examples include “person can judge by their clothes,” “clothing style is depends,” “clothes reflects,” and “skills can knowledge can not describe.” These patterns sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Work on complete, correctly formed clauses—for example, “A person’s clothing style depends on their preferences” and “Skills and knowledge cannot be judged from clothing.” More accurate control of these basic patterns would make your complex sentences clearer and more reliable.
