Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three main points: you report that some adaptors arrived broken, explain that failures disrupt your repair work and lead to customer complaints, and request replacement of defective items. These details make the purpose clear. However, the request is not fully precise: you mention changing “every broken and deffected pieces,” but do not clearly say whether you expect all 12 damaged units, the five that failed in use, or another remedy. The letter also gives limited detail about the order and the impact on your work. The response is five words below the required 150-word minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Add a clear remedy and a little more supporting detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The information follows a broadly sensible order: you introduce yourself and the purchase, describe the faulty adaptors, explain the effect on your work, and make a request. This gives the reader a basic understanding of your complaint. However, the letter is presented as one continuous block, so the shift from the product problem to its consequences is not clearly signposted. Several ideas are joined with full stops or repeated references rather than clear linking, and phrases such as “Every time when” make the relationship between events harder to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the complaint, its impact, and your requested action, and connect them with straightforward transitions such as “As a result” and “Therefore.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main issue, including “smps adaptors,” “broken,” “fused,” “repair,” and “quality.” The reader can identify the equipment and understand that it is affecting your work. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the message less clear. For example, “electrition” is not the standard term, “rechange” does not express the intended action naturally, and “deffected pieces” is not an appropriate phrase. Spelling and repeated use of “smps adaptor” also reduce precision. Build a small set of accurate complaint-letter expressions, such as “defective units,” “replacement,” and “interrupting my work,” and check spelling before sending.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple patterns, and the basic meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical errors are frequent and some make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “I am the regular customer who buy” has problems with the verb form and agreement, while “I got 12 broken piece” needs a plural noun. Verb forms are also inconsistent in “I am used to go” and “Every time when the product is not work properly.” Capitalisation and sentence punctuation are unreliable, as in the lowercase “i” and the run-on presentation of several ideas. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions of the order and present-tense explanations of ongoing effects, then use short, complete sentences before attempting longer structures.
