Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: describing the technical issues, explaining the impact on work, and requesting a resolution. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, though the development of the impact on the company's reputation is slightly brief. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task effectively, providing a clear purpose and a logical structure that meets the needs of the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the problem, the impact, and the requested action. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'However' are used to link ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The progression of information is clear throughout, and the reader can easily follow the writer's argument from the initial problem description to the final request for a replacement or repair.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their needs clearly. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'I am extremely inconvenience' (should be 'inconvenienced') and 'arrange for a repaired' (should be 'arrange for a repair'). While the range is sufficient to convey the message, it lacks the variety and precision of more advanced lexical usage. The spelling is mostly accurate, though 'submmited' is a minor error that does not impede overall understanding.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'problem in the computer' (should be 'with'), 'it can not work' (should be 'cannot'), and 'battery has immediately discharge' (should be 'discharged'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and verb tense consistency. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding the core message. To improve, the writer should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice in formal correspondence.
