Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's culture, some of us think that buying local products is an merit instead of purchasing products which made in other countries. I agree with the given view as buy market products helps businesses, less transportation, and high demanding in market. however, imported goods provides better quality, many choices, and products which are not available locally. my inclination will be elucidate in the further paragraph.

The primary advantage of buying local products is that they supports country's economy and growth. when people purchase goods made by local businesses, these companies earn more profit, which being also reason for creating more employment opportunities. for example, people buy clothes made by indian textile companies instead of exported shops. As a result, they supports manufucturers and provide jobs for thousands of workers. In addition, getting products locally reducing transportation. they're getting local product by traveling sorter distance saves fuel. For instance, local store's fruits requires less shipping compares to imported fruits. Resulting, they can get fresh fruits without paying more shipping charges.

Another major advantage of purchasing products from the local market is that, getting fresh products quickly. As an example, they can supply fresh fruits and vegetables from nearby farms, It not only helping our country's economy but it is also helpful for farmers to earn income and encourage them to do more farming. Furthermore, they can check the quality hand to hand before buying products. As Example. if they checking the product and by default it is damaged then they can deny to buy or skip purchasing from that shop, Resulting, this can save their money. Additionally, locally availability of the products, they can buy from anywhere from the local markets. As a result, they do not need to invest their time in finding product from particular shop.

In Conclusion, I strongly agree that buying products locally is always advantageous, It is not only supports country's economy by creating jobs and business growth but also benefits of getting fresh products. Therefore, people should choose local shopping and buy fresh goods whenever possible.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response is completely off-topic. The task required a formal letter to a company regarding a faulty piece of equipment used for work. Instead, the student wrote an essay discussing the merits of buying local versus imported products. Because the student failed to address the prompt entirely, the task achievement is severely compromised. There is no attempt to describe a problem with equipment, explain its impact on work, or request action from a supplier. This is a fundamental failure to follow the instructions provided in the task prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

While the essay is structured into paragraphs, the content does not relate to the task. Within the essay itself, the progression of ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'Resulting, they can get...'). The paragraphing is present, but the logical flow is hindered by the lack of relevance to the prompt. The transition between ideas is often forced, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, making the overall structure feel disjointed despite the attempt at a standard essay format.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'buying local products is an merit' (should be 'a merit') and 'getting products locally reducing transportation'. The student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, but these attempts are often inaccurate or misused in context. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly, and the spelling errors (e.g., 'manufucturers', 'sorter') further detract from the quality of the writing. The language used is basic and lacks the precision required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The grammar is characterized by frequent errors in sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and article usage. Examples include 'they supports country's economy', 'local store's fruits requires', and 'if they checking the product'. The student relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with frequent comma splices and incorrect capitalization. These errors occur throughout the text and frequently impede the clarity of the message, indicating a lack of control over basic grammatical rules.
