Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the problem, explaining the impact on work, and requesting a solution. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which is a significant constraint. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped due to the brevity. For instance, the explanation of how the mouse affects work is quite brief. To improve, you should expand on the specific technical issues and provide more detail regarding the desired outcome or the inconvenience caused. Because the word count requirement was not met, the score is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical structure, moving from the purchase details to the problem, the impact, and finally the request. Paragraphing is present, though the paragraphs are quite short. The use of cohesive devices is somewhat limited and occasionally mechanical, such as the transition 'As I am an graphic designer'. While the message is clear, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the progression of ideas feels more natural and less like a list of points.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range expected at higher bands. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'goof quality' (likely a typo for 'good') and 'Middle of the work loose the connections' (which is grammatically and lexically awkward). Phrases like 'reach out me to this mail' are also non-standard. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more sophisticated vocabulary related to technical equipment and professional correspondence, while ensuring accurate spelling and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'I have bought... last week' (should be simple past 'I bought'), 'As I am an graphic designer' (article error), and 'this model is the best for my' (incorrect pronoun usage). Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic verb tenses and ensuring subject-verb agreement. Increasing the variety of sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will help you achieve a higher score.
