Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the problem, explaining the impact on work, and requesting a solution. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. The description of the problem is repetitive, and the request for a new laptop is quite abrupt. While the purpose of the letter is clear, the tone is inconsistent, and the ideas could be expanded with more specific details regarding the purchase date or warranty status to make the request more persuasive and professional.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Whenever, I am attending meeting' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. The transition 'Furthermore' is used to introduce the request, but the connection between the paragraphs feels somewhat disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall progression of ideas lacks the sophistication required for a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'compony' instead of 'company' and 'Faithfull' instead of 'Faithfully'. The phrase 'get success' is unnatural in this context. While the student manages to convey the message, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the errors in spelling and collocation occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. There are issues with article usage ('the blinking screen'), subject-verb agreement ('laptop screen is always blink'), and sentence structure ('If you have more question regarding my laptop information' is an incomplete sentence). The student relies on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as the misuse of 'owing to' and 'due to'.
