You work at home and have a problem with a piece of equipment that you use for your job.
Write a letter to the shop or company which supplied the equipment. In your letter

- explain how this problem is affecting your work
- say what you want the shop or company to do
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this to complaint regarding the wifi I am using for my work purpose.
The modem which you have provided has stopped working completely. As I have restarted the equipment several times, still it is not responding with the way it should be. I believe, issue is with the system and not with the connection or any of the cables connected to it.
I work from the home, and due to this internet system failure, I could not able to complete my work task assigned to me. It is requested to please resolve this issue by tomorrow, so that I can continue my office work. The possible resolution in my opinion is to change the wifi modem with the new equipment. However, proofs and the details are attached with this email for your reference.
Please let me know if you require any further information from my side. I look forward to hearing from you
Yours faithfully,
Maunil

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: describing the problem, explaining the impact on your work, and stating your desired resolution. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention the modem is not working, providing more specific details about the symptoms (e.g., specific lights flashing or error messages) would have strengthened the response. Similarly, explaining the impact on your work could be more detailed to better justify the urgency of your request. Overall, the task is fully addressed, but the depth of information provided is limited.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the problem, the impact, and the request. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However' and 'As', to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally slightly mechanical, and some transitions could be smoother. For example, the connection between the problem description and the impact could be better integrated. Overall, the message is easy to follow, and the progression of ideas is logical throughout the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. Words like 'resolution', 'equipment', and 'assigned' are appropriate for the context. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'complaint' (which should be the verb 'complain') and 'not responding with the way it should be' (which is slightly unnatural). While you successfully communicate your meaning, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and lacks the more sophisticated collocations or idiomatic expressions that would elevate the score to a higher band. The spelling is generally accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'I could not able to' (should be 'I am not able to' or 'I have been unable to') and 'I work from the home' (should be 'I work from home'). Additionally, 'It is requested to please resolve' is a passive construction that sounds slightly awkward. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs.
