Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the problem (blurriness), explaining the impact (missing meetings, manager's reaction), and stating the desired outcome (replacement). The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the development of ideas is somewhat simplistic. The purpose of the letter is clear from the outset, and the reader is left in no doubt about the nature of the complaint. To reach a higher band, the student should aim to provide more detailed explanations and use a more professional tone, particularly when describing the interaction with the manager.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the narrative. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, the phrase 'because of this' is used twice in close proximity, which disrupts the flow. The transition between the problem description and the impact on work is clear, but the overall structure could benefit from more varied linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'therefore') to improve the logical progression between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'blur problem' (should be 'focusing issue' or 'blurry image'), 'electronic part' (should be 'equipment' or 'devices'), and 'significant roll' (should be 'significant role'). While the meaning is generally clear, the student relies on basic vocabulary and makes spelling errors like 'clints' (clients) and 'Your faithfully' (Yours faithfully). Expanding the range of vocabulary would help convey ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include missing articles ('a camera', 'the company'), incorrect verb forms ('I am look forward'), and punctuation errors (spaces before commas). While the meaning is rarely obscured, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
