Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers all three bullet points required by the task: it describes the problem with the laptop, explains how it affects work, and states what the writer wants the company to do. The tone is set as a formal complaint letter, successfully opening with 'Dear Sir or Madam' (though mistakenly addressed as 'Hello Sir' initially). Ideas are present, such as screen brightness issues and battery failure, but they are underdeveloped due to severe language expression barriers. For instance, the demand for a refund or replacement is clearly stated at the end ('I want refund money because I have receipt of bills...'). However, the lack of clarity and frequent grammatical breakdown impede full development and obscure parts of the message. Therefore, this falls under Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The letter is broken down into multiple paragraphs representing different sections of the letter, attempting to separate the greeting, problem, impact, and desired outcome. However, overall progression and logical flow are heavily disrupted by incoherent sentence structures. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, such as abrupt transitions ('When, I reacehed the office for the work...'). Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to follow the chronological sequence of the problems described. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal organization of sentences within the paragraphs lacks cohesion. These features place the response firmly at Band 4.5, rounded to Band 4.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and often inaccurate, severely straining the reader's comprehension. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'responcibilites', 'time-management', 'exceptionel', and 'garrenty', but spelling and word choices are frequently incorrect (e.g., 'Ded product', 'bed' instead of 'bad', 'bettery charges lowed'). Collocations are awkward, such as 'give my work with office'. There is an inadequate range of vocabulary to handle the topic smoothly, resulting in a performance that meets the Band 4.5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical range is extremely limited, relying heavily on simple, fragmented, and malformed sentence structures. There is a near-total absence of error-free sentences. The text contains frequent, major grammatical errors that constantly distort meaning and cause significant difficulty for the reader, such as 'I was buying for one month ago', 'Whenever, I was buying a product. It was good running', and 'Laptop is sometime geting bettery charges lowed.' Punctuation is also heavily flawed, with random full stops and commas breaking up single clauses. This level of grammatical control corresponds to Band 4.0.
