Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by describing the problem with the laptop, explaining its impact on work, and stating the desired action from the company. However, some areas lack full development. For instance, the description that 'it turn off and on automatically' is quite basic, and the explanation of how it affects work relies on simple repetition rather than extended details. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter despite some minor lapses, and all three bullet points from the task instructions are clearly covered, placing this criterion solidly in the mid-range.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear sequence of ideas, moving logically from the greeting and purpose to the problem, its impact, and finally the requested solution. Paragraphing is attempted to separate the distinct parts of the letter, although the visual layout and spacing are slightly informal. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or basic, such as the frequent reliance on 'so that'. Reference words are generally clear, enabling the reader to follow the narrative easily from start to finish, reflecting a standard organizational competence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate the core message. However, the range is limited, and there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word forms. Examples include 'writting' instead of writing, 'buy' instead of bought, 'declaying' instead of declining, 'policey' instead of policy, and 'costmer' instead of customer. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score because uncommon vocabulary items are not attempted successfully, and basic spelling mistakes recur throughout the short text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'if any of your costmer face any problem'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage. Issues include missing subject-verb agreement and incorrect tense usage, such as 'i buy laptop' instead of 'I bought a laptop', and incorrect clause connections like 'so, that i can not deliver work'. Punctuation is also problematic, with comma splices and incorrect spacing around punctuation marks. These errors persist throughout the text, though the meaning can still be understood with some effort by the reader.
