Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main issue—a router that switches off after five minutes—and explain a consequence by saying a client has not received a report. You also request that the recipient contact the IT team. However, the request is indirect and does not clearly say what action you expect the supplier to take, such as arranging a repair or replacement. The effect on your work and the urgency could be explained more fully, and the letter is six words below the required minimum. These omissions and limited development mean the task is only partially addressed. Add a clear, specific request and a little more detail about the work disruption.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The information follows a broadly sensible order: you introduce the problem, describe the router’s behaviour, give an example of its impact, and make a request. This helps the reader understand the basic situation. However, nearly all the content is placed in one long paragraph, so the stages of the letter are not clearly separated. Connections between ideas are also sometimes unclear; for example, “yesterday i called IT team also but not response received” is followed immediately by the technical details. Use separate paragraphs for the problem, its effect, and your requested action, and connect them with clear transitions such as “As a result” and “Therefore.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the central issue, including “wi-fi router,” “IT team,” “client,” and “report.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make parts of the letter difficult to follow. For instance, “affect my work too crucially,” “not response received,” and “if this mail trailed from your side” do not express your meaning clearly. Spelling and word-form errors such as “secific,” “recieved,” and “tem” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for describing equipment faults, work disruption, and requested action, and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response relies mainly on simple statements, with an attempt to combine ideas in sentences such as “when i start my router that turn on but after 5 minutes it automatically switched off.” These longer structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in tense, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the message harder to read. For example, “that affect my work” needs subject–verb agreement, while “yesterday i called IT team also but not response received” has an incomplete and awkwardly formed clause. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then join them using controlled clauses such as “Although the router turns on, it switches off after five minutes.”
