Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three main points: you report a problem with the computer monitor, explain that your work depends on the computer, and request a replacement. The effect on your work is relevant, especially the reference to urgent work and a meeting, but these details are incomplete, and the exact fault is difficult to understand. The request for “a new computer” is clear, though you could explain whether you expect a replacement, repair, or another remedy. The response is also 8 words below the required minimum, so the letter has limited space to develop the problem and its impact. Add specific details, such as when the fault began and what happens when you try to use the screen.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter follows a broadly sensible order: it introduces the issue, describes its effect on work, and makes a request. This gives the reader a basic overall structure. However, the ideas are crowded into long blocks rather than clearly separated into paragraphs, and progression is weakened by abrupt transitions such as “so this time” and “and I have a important metting.” Some sentences are difficult to follow because several points are joined with full stops or “and” without clear links. Use separate paragraphs for the fault, its consequences, and your requested action, and connect details with clear expressions such as “As a result” or “Therefore.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the general situation, including “monitor,” “computer,” “urgent work,” and “meeting.” However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “computer” appearing several times, and frequent spelling errors make the message harder to read: “disterb,” “dipedent,” “inportent,” and “metting.” Some phrases are also unclear or unnatural, such as “this display almost black” and “I do not open this monitor.” Choose precise terms such as “the screen flickers” or “the display goes black,” and check spelling carefully. A wider set of accurate words for describing the fault and its consequences would make the letter clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple patterns, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and punctuation frequently make the message difficult to read. For example, “Last day when i open my computer i face some problem” has unclear tense and sentence structure, while “my computer monitor disterb this picture come and gone” lacks a clear grammatical relationship between its ideas. In “I have a important metting,” the article does not agree with the following vowel sound. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past tense for when the problem began and present tense for its current effects. More accurate sentence patterns will help your meaning come through.
