Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with one of the equipment that I use for my work.
Today, I am working at my home for the presentation which I have to submit today, I find it difficult because my laptop is not working. I remember when I opened Microsoft, the screen got freeze.
As I mentioned earlier, I have to complete my ppt today because I have a meeting tomorrow. The laptop contains all the necessary data and consignment for upcoming projects. If I cannot submit the ppt on time, my company loose the opportunity to work with an International company.
I would appreciate if you could help me to get all the company's data from my laptop. If possible, please repair my laptop at your earliest convenience.I would be really grateul to you.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you explain that the laptop freezes when you open Microsoft, describe the deadline and possible business consequences, and request help recovering the company data and repairing the device. The urgency is clear, and the formal opening and closing suit a complaint letter. However, the requested action could be more precise: it is unclear whether you expect the company to arrange a repair, provide a replacement, or first recover the files. The effect on your work is relevant but could be developed by explaining what you cannot currently do. This covers the task well overall, while some details remain less fully explained.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible sequence: the equipment problem is introduced, its impact is explained, and a request is made before the closing. Paragraphing helps separate these functions, and phrases such as “As I mentioned earlier” and “If I cannot submit the ppt on time” make the relationship between ideas understandable. Some connections are less smooth, however. The opening moves abruptly from dissatisfaction to working on a presentation, and “Today” is repeated without adding much. The request also combines data recovery and repair without clarifying their order or priority. More direct transitions and a clearer separation of the problem, consequences, and requested remedy would make the progression more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the situation, including “dissatisfaction,” “necessary data,” “upcoming projects,” and “earliest convenience.” These choices show some range beyond basic wording. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural for this context: “one of the equipment” is not idiomatic, “the screen got freeze” is an incorrect phrase, and “consignment” does not convey the intended meaning of project files or information. “Microsoft” is also too vague; naming the program or saying that the laptop freezes when you open an application would be clearer. Spelling errors such as “grateul” and the informal abbreviation “ppt” reduce precision. More accurate collocations and careful proofreading would strengthen the vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the conditional sentence “If I cannot submit the ppt on time, my company loose the opportunity” and the polite request “I would appreciate if you could help me.” The meaning is generally clear, and errors rarely prevent understanding. Some grammatical problems remain: “one of the equipment” has an article and countability issue, “I am working at my home” uses an awkward preposition, and “my company loose” has incorrect subject–verb agreement and verb form. The long sentence beginning “Today, I am working…” also joins several ideas with commas, making its structure difficult to follow. Review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
