Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the three main points: you say the equipment is malfunctioning, explain that it slows your work and sometimes prevents you from completing it, and request an inspection followed by a replacement if repair is not possible. These details make your purpose clear. However, the central problem remains vague: you never identify what the equipment is or describe the specific fault, so the supplier has little information to act on. The effect on your work is also repeated more than developed, and the request could be more precise about the action or timing you expect. Add a concrete description of the fault and explain how often it occurs to make the complaint more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a generally clear sequence: it introduces the complaint, describes its impact, and then makes a request. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and phrases such as “As someone who works from home” connect the situation to your request. This coherent overall arrangement supports the reader in following your purpose. However, the opening repeats “problem” and “currently encountering,” while the second paragraph circles around the same impact rather than adding new information. The closing, “I hope this email finds you well,” also comes after the request and feels less suitable than a direct closing sentence. Reduce repetition and use each paragraph to add a distinct detail or action.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the basic complaint and its consequences, using phrases such as “slows me down,” “frustrated,” “look at the problem,” and “replacement.” The reader can understand the general situation. However, the range is limited and several expressions are vague or repetitive, especially repeated uses of “problem” and “do my work.” Some choices are also unnatural for a formal complaint, such as “work in peace” and “got my momentum.” More precise equipment-related language would help you explain the fault and its impact clearly. For example, name the malfunction and use terms such as “intermittently,” “disrupts my workflow,” or “inspect the equipment” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in verb forms, sentence boundaries, agreement, and punctuation are noticeable. For example, “I have encountering” should be “I have encountered” or “I am experiencing,” and “it suddenly show some problems” needs “it suddenly shows a problem.” The opening joins two complete ideas with a comma, as does “This problem is greatly affecting my work, it slows me down.” There are also errors in “I know that I some convenience” and “if it is still possible to fix it, if not.” Review verb forms and agreement, and separate complete clauses with a full stop or an appropriate conjunction. More accurate control of these patterns would make the letter smoother.
