Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you identify the laptop’s power and screen failures, explain that work and assignments can be lost, and request either a refund or a replacement. The consequences are relevant and the request is clear, so the purpose of the letter is established. The impact is explained with a concrete example, but the description of the fault could be more precise—for instance, say how often the laptop shuts down or whether the blank screen occurs at the same time. The requested action is also somewhat unclear because you offer two options and then give a confusing reason for preferring a refund. A more specific, professionally phrased request would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter follows a sensible overall order: it introduces the purchase and fault, describes the effect on your work, and ends with a request. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and the example of losing an assignment supports the explanation of the problem. However, some links between ideas are awkward or unclear. In the final paragraph, the shift from requesting a refund to saying it would save “our time” and help you search for another laptop is difficult to follow. The sequence within the work-impact paragraph also repeats the same point about assignments. Clearer transitions and a more focused final paragraph would make the progression smoother and cohesion less noticeable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main problem and its effect, with relevant terms such as “screen,” “important file,” “assignment,” and “refund.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the message harder to understand. For example, “power down” does not clearly describe the laptop shutting off unexpectedly, while “it become headache” and “got delete” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “numberous,” “reayly,” and “latop” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, conventional phrases suited to a formal complaint, such as “shuts down unexpectedly,” “causes considerable difficulty,” and “the file was lost.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation of what happens when the laptop switches off. The main message is generally recoverable, but grammatical control is limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. Examples include “it automatically get power down,” “it got power off,” and “i have numberous problem”; these need forms such as “it automatically shuts down,” “it switched off,” and “I have several problems.” The long sentence beginning “Sometimes i am working on assignment” also joins several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise accurate present-tense descriptions and break explanations into shorter, correctly punctuated sentences.
