Student answer (Band 6.0)

In contemporary era, Young generations visit more tougher places which give a diifficult conditions during the visit. People want to explore the places like Sahara desert, Antartic Ocean or Floweport Trail etc where the weather conitions are harsh. There are many pros and cons for this situation. Both of them will be discussed further in details.

In the world, there are different places to explore such as temples, oceans, beaches, lakes etc. The newer generation go to the places where they enjoy the nature and do some adventure activities like hiking, trail, sailing. On the other side, elder individuals visit the temples where they feel relax from the busy workoholic life. Moreover, it depends on the person who are interested to view the new areas and make some fantastic memories. For example, My family visited the Niagara Falls recently and they enjoed a lot but my parents feel tired and do not able to do all the activities. Meanwhile in the same time, I did all the activities because I like to do some adveture activities like rail cart, car racing etc.

Moreover, The places where the conditions are harsh, it require more efforts to finish the trip and at the end it feels hactic but at same time feel good and enthusiastic. These kind of trips require more days to do and it is good to spend some quality of time with the family.

On the other side, it needs more money to visit the places which are far away from the home. And this all adventure activities which have lots of safety guides and equipments but sometime it feels risky. Furthermore, this harsh conditions of tour create some serious health issues in the future which is not good especially for the older individuals.

In a nutshell, Visiting the places where conditions are hard which is good until some age but after that it feel difficult to explore.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both benefits and disadvantages of visiting harsh environments. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of 'fantastic memories' and 'enthusiastic' feelings is vague and lacks depth. The example provided about the Niagara Falls is not entirely relevant to the prompt, as it does not describe a 'difficult' or 'harsh' environment like the Sahara or Antarctica. The position is clear, but the arguments could be better supported with more specific examples related to the actual topic of extreme tourism. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points made.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. While cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'On the other side' are used, they are occasionally used mechanically or inappropriately, such as the transition between the general discussion of travel and the personal anecdote about Niagara Falls. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved to create a more logical, unified argument. Paragraphing is present but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'more tougher places', 'give a diifficult conditions', and 'workoholic life'. Spelling errors like 'Antartic', 'enjoed', 'adveture', and 'hactic' are noticeable. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles to use more sophisticated or academic collocations effectively. To improve, the student should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to travel and environmental conditions and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('it require', 'conditions... is not good'), incorrect article usage ('the Sahara desert', 'the Antartic Ocean'), and awkward sentence construction ('do not able to do'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors is required.
