Student answer (Band 6.5)
Tourism is important part of most of the countries across the world. Some people claim nowadays people are visiting more and more places with harsh weather conditions. There are a few pros and cons for this trend. In this, I will try to discuss the advantages and disadvantages for the same.
To start with, there are considerably few advantages of this trend. The first and foremost could be cheap travel. To elaborate it, when people make plan about going on tour or tourism, the first thing they may think about is adventure. Sometimes people have limited budget, and also have wish to travel the world. Thus, when they think about traveling to world, they may often think about going to desert or places with such extreme weather conditions where they may have an opportunity to fulfill adventurous dreams. The second could be better less congested. To explain, often so many people may not go to some places with extreme weather conditions, so they choose some easy travel location where they can resist, and their skin would not have to bear.
However, there are few disadvantages as well which one should not look over. The first cons would be seasonal travel. To enlighten, there are so many places across the world which only get opened in some season or have a seasonal tourism. For example, Banff in Canada does not have open tourism when winter happens because for any human being it may not be easy to survive under minus 35 to 40 degrees. The second could be hard to arrange transportation. There are so many things need to get aligned when someone plans to travel, transportation is one of them. It is apparant, it gets difficult to travel to such destination when season does not favor it, such as in winter or in monsoon.
To conclude, yes, traveling to deserts or the Antarctic have became very common these days, but before traveling or planning any tour to such places people should make sure they should not face any inconvenience.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'cheap travel' is not logically supported, as travel to remote, extreme locations like the Antarctic is typically very expensive. The second advantage regarding 'less congested' areas is clearer but could be better explained. The disadvantages are more relevant, though the explanation of seasonal travel and transportation difficulties remains somewhat superficial. To improve, you should provide more concrete, logical examples and ensure your arguments are fully developed rather than just stated. The position is clear, but the depth of analysis is inconsistent.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To start with', 'However', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In this, I will try to discuss' and 'To enlighten'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, it is not immediately obvious what 'the same' refers to. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on some repetitive phrasing, such as 'extreme weather conditions' and 'travel'. There are also some instances of awkward word choice or collocation, such as 'better less congested' and 'make plan about going on tour'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, focus on using more precise adjectives and nouns, and work on collocations related to tourism and environmental challenges.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing articles ('important part of most of the countries'), subject-verb agreement issues ('There are so many things need to get aligned'), and awkward phrasing ('have became very common'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more error-free sentences and practice using a wider variety of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, with greater accuracy. Proofreading for basic article and pluralization errors would also be beneficial.
