Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme locations. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of 'survival abilities' is vague, and the mention of 'natural disasters' like earthquakes in the Sahara is factually questionable and lacks specific detail. While the position is clear, the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with concrete examples to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'In addition', and 'On the contrary', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'it could be a dangerous for their life'. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within sentences could be improved to ensure smoother transitions between ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning. There are attempts to use more sophisticated language, such as 'scarcity of resources' and 'uncertain conditions'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'challenges sites', 'measure resources availability', and 'participating with properly guidelines'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the range and precision of the vocabulary used.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a dangerous'), subject-verb agreement ('it might be causes'), and word order ('tourists cannot able to'). Some sentences are structurally awkward, such as 'how well their body to fight with these circumstances'. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors indicates a lack of control over more complex grammatical structures.
