Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses the prompt by discussing both benefits and disadvantages, the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. The ideas regarding 'antibodies' and 'immune systems' are scientifically questionable and lack logical depth. The position is clear, but the lack of sufficient length prevents a full exploration of the topic. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and relevant examples, ensuring you meet the minimum word count to allow for a comprehensive response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by awkward phrasing and limited use of cohesive devices. While some linking words like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are sometimes applied incorrectly or in a way that does not effectively connect the ideas. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition signals will help create a smoother, more logical structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, with several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'dissert' instead of 'desert' and 'savior' instead of 'severe'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. Many phrases are used incorrectly, such as 'maintain there body stable' or 'give immunization strength'. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on learning collocations and using a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to travel, health, and environmental conditions, while paying closer attention to spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'people travel different condition places' is grammatically incorrect, and 'there body' is used instead of 'their body'. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences with some attempts at complex structures that are often faulty. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of pronouns and prepositions.
