Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The points made regarding 'environmental changes' and 'physical health' are quite basic and lack depth. For instance, the argument about health is restricted to listing minor ailments like 'cough' and 'fever' without exploring the broader implications of extreme tourism. To improve, you should provide more detailed explanations and specific examples that demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic, rather than relying on vague references to 'media reports' or 'world tourism' statistics that appear fabricated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'Due to this' is used repeatedly in a way that does not always logically connect the preceding sentence to the next. Additionally, the transition between ideas is somewhat abrupt. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases more naturally, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'good', 'bad', 'places', and 'things'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'myriad number of visitors' (which is redundant) and 'weather condition is keep changing' (which is grammatically incorrect). To improve, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'harsh climates', 'adverse conditions', or 'physiological impact'. Expanding your range of synonyms and learning common collocations will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'environmental changes affects' and 'weather condition is keep changing'. Punctuation is also problematic, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often marred by errors, such as 'people who have visited these places and they gave feedback'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for punctuation errors before submitting your work.
