Nowadays many travelers are exploring destinations where situations are challenging. There are several advantages and drawbacks related to this phenomenon. This essay will explain advantages and disadvantages of visiting such tourist places in detail.
The positive side of vising places with extreme weather conditions is tourists can experience different climate. Places such as Sahara desert or the Antarctic have different weather condition than other living places. Tourists can live in extreme hot weather or cold weather and sometimes they experience snow fall, which they can not experience in place they live. Another advantage is it enhances their life-skill. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that visiting extreme climates improves 'immune responses' is a biological assertion that lacks logical support or scientific grounding. Similarly, the point about 'life-skills' is mentioned but not sufficiently explained with concrete examples. While the essay covers all parts of the prompt, the arguments remain at a basic level, lacking the depth required for a higher band. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence is underdeveloped.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The first disadvantage', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally repetitive. For example, the start of sentences in the second paragraph relies heavily on 'By visiting' and 'By living'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'extreme', 'difficult', and 'places'. Phrases such as 'internet problem' and 'other living places' are somewhat simplistic. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'climate' and 'connectivity', the range is limited. To improve, the student should incorporate more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express ideas more fluently and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'vising' instead of 'visiting', 'they faces' instead of 'they face', and 'this places' instead of 'these places'. Additionally, there are missing articles, such as 'in extreme hot weather'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. The student demonstrates a basic control of grammar, but the range of complex structures is limited and often contains minor inaccuracies.
