Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's time every person wants to spend their vacations by exploring new new places where conditions are difficult, such as Sahara desert or the Antarctic. In this essay i would not only discuss advantages but also disadvantages would illustrated before drawing a logical conclusion.
There are numbers of advantage of this segment. Firstly, visiting at difficult conditions places will help tourist to gain more survival skills and will gain more experiences to face difficult situation. By spending more time at natural places tourists can reduce their stress and collect happy moments which help them to stay positive and happy during working hours. Other reasons for the advantage are, the rate of tourists is increasing day by day which help to boost the GDP of that particular country. Government should use tourist's money form the development of the Country and also could use this money to improve facilities on this tourist places so it will attract more tourists among the places.
Despite having some advantages , disadvantage could not be neglected. Firstly, by increasing in rate of tourists visiting places such as the Sahara desert and the Antarctic this will affect natural habitats of that places. To discuss briefly, The penguins are one of the main habitats of the Antarctic if tourists rate will increase at this place this would be difficult to protect rare species of the Penguins . If this species gets instinct from our nature it will be a huge loss to nature and also for the tourist place owner.
In conclusion, although visiting places where situations are difficult it will helps to gain survival skills and experience yet this will affect natural habitats of that place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'survival skills' is mentioned but not fully explained in terms of how a tourist actually acquires or uses them. The discussion on economic benefits is relevant but slightly generic. The conclusion is quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific examples or deeper analysis for each point, ensuring that the connection between the extreme nature of the location and the resulting benefit or disadvantage is clearly articulated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Despite', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'this segment' or 'among the places'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their intended antecedents. Paragraphing is present and appropriate for the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'new new places', 'difficult conditions places', and 'gets instinct' (likely meaning 'extinct'). These errors occasionally draw attention, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. To improve, focus on learning collocations—for example, instead of 'tourist rate', use 'number of tourists' or 'tourist volume'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific terminology would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with article usage ('the Sahara desert', 'the Antarctic'), subject-verb agreement ('disadvantage could not be neglected'), and word order. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma placement and capitalization (e.g., 'i' instead of 'I'). The errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, though they rarely impede overall communication. Increasing your control over basic grammar and refining complex structures will help improve your score in this criterion.
