Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks for both benefits and disadvantages of visiting difficult environments, the discussion is underdeveloped and lacks specific, relevant examples. The arguments regarding economic benefits and the risks of natural disasters are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with logical reasoning. Furthermore, the conclusion is extremely brief and does not adequately summarize the main points. Because the response is under-length and the ideas are not fully extended, it does not meet the requirements for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often unclear due to significant language errors. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In contrast', 'However', and 'Therefore', but they are often used incorrectly or do not logically connect the preceding and following sentences. For example, the transition between the economic benefits and the disadvantages is abrupt. The referencing is sometimes confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. Overall, the lack of clear logical flow and the mechanical use of linking words hinder the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'soiled area' instead of 'underdeveloped region' and 'naturally distrubtion' instead of 'natural disasters'. The student struggles to use precise terminology related to the topic, relying on basic and sometimes confusing phrasing. The repetition of words like 'living life' and 'travel' further limits the range. To improve, the student needs to focus on learning topic-specific collocations and ensuring that words are used in the correct context to convey meaning accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the people like to enjoying'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'That can benefits for economical'). Many sentences are fragmented or grammatically incomplete, such as 'Todays world the people like to enjoying...'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, which makes the text difficult to read. The lack of complex structures and the high frequency of basic grammatical errors mean that the meaning is often obscured, preventing the reader from fully understanding the intended message.
