It has been increasingly popular among tourist to visit places where conditions are difficult, such as Sahara desert or the Antarctic in the recent years. This phenomenon has been attributed to several reasons such as conducting researches. While there are a few disadvantages, advantages are outweigh the drawbacks.

On the one hand, the primary reason why people visit these places is for education. These places are less disturbed, and it is more likely to find the fossils of creature that were extinguish several years ago. It seems reasonable for students to visit these places as a tourist to find the remaining of animals, reptiles and birds that dies a long time ago. These findings can help them to understand the way of lives back then. For instance, Scientists have found the fossils of dinosaurs, and concluded that these creatures were belonged to the reptile family. Furthermore, people can test their ability or will power by surviving in harsh conditions, which usually give a sense of satisfaction them. Consequently, more tourists have been seen in these places.

On the other hand, there are a few drawbacks. These places can be dangerous for many individuals, particularly for those people who never live in harsh conditions. The Sahara desert is extremely warm, while the Antarctic is extremely cold. If a person has never lived in cold or warm weather, their body could not adjust in these conditions, and they may lose their life. Weather is not only dangerous, there are other risk too such as wild animals often attack tourists for food. For example, many people were died in Sahara desert because of dehydration since they were not prepared to survive in hot conditions.

In conclusion, there is no doubt that today more and more tourists are visiting places where conditions are difficult, such as the Sahara desert or the Antarctic. Although there are a few advantages such as scientists found the evidence of lives before humans, many people have lost their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying benefits (education, personal challenge) and disadvantages (danger, health risks). The position is clear, though the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For example, the argument regarding fossils is slightly confused, as tourists generally do not conduct scientific research to find fossils. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made. To reach a higher band, ensure that the ideas are more logically grounded in the reality of tourism and that the conclusion provides a more insightful summary of the main arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Weather is not only dangerous, there are other risk too'. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the central topic of each paragraph is clearly identifiable.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations. For example, 'extinguish' is used incorrectly (should be 'extinct'), and 'creatures were belonged to' is grammatically and lexically awkward. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'dehydration' and 'fossils', the range is somewhat limited. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology and ensuring that word forms (e.g., adjectives vs. verbs) are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'advantages are outweigh the drawbacks' (should be 'advantages outweigh') and 'many people were died' (should be 'many people have died'). Subject-verb agreement and tense consistency are areas that require attention. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic tense and agreement errors would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
