Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is evident that a increasing number of people prefers to visit places, which have harsh weather conditions, for example, the Sahara desert or the Antarctic. This essay will discuss both advantages and disadvantages associated with visiting such places in the upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, visiting those places provides several benefits to individuals, in terms of popularity and economic stability. One of the main advantages is that people, who do something different from other individuals, mostly get famous around the world by posting some videos related to their experience while living on these locations on social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. For example, a person after visiting the Sahara desert alone for 6 days uploaded videos on YouTube, and in fact increased his subscribers from 100 to [redacted phone] within a few days. Furthermore, some famous brands also give millions of dollars to that famous person for posting a single advertisement about their product by famous YouTube channel. Therefore, those individuals has become financially stable.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages which are associated with going such places. Firstly, nobody is living on these conditions, so emergency services are not available there. For example, if there is any accident happened there, it is really difficult to find any kind of first-aid and hospitals on time. As a result, people can also lose their life while visiting these type of places.
In conclusion, although doing extraordinary things such as visiting sites, which have very low or high temperature, has some benefits such as popularity and economic stability, this trend has some drawbacks such as people can lose their life while visiting there.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments. The ideas are relevant, focusing on social media fame and financial gain as benefits, and the lack of emergency services as a disadvantage. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example regarding the YouTuber is specific but could be more balanced with broader societal or personal benefits. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, merely restating the points rather than synthesising them. To reach a higher band, ensure that the arguments are explored with more depth and nuance, perhaps by discussing the psychological benefits or the environmental impact of such tourism.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised into clear paragraphs with a standard introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'As a result' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'those places', 'these type of places'). The progression of ideas is clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better pronoun referencing to avoid redundancy.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'economic stability' and 'extraordinary', which are used correctly. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'living on these locations' (should be 'in') and 'these type of places' (should be 'these types of places'). The range is sufficient but lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. For instance, 'a increasing number' (should be 'an'), 'individuals has become' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'if there is any accident happened' (incorrect verb tense). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and verb tenses in complex sentences.
