Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, number of visitors are travelling to destinations where the conditions are extremely hard for living. In this essay, I will shed lights on the merits and demerits of this trend and share my own prospective on this matter.
To begin with, there are numerous positive effects for visitors who are travelling to these places. First and foremost is it enhance the educational skills. To elaborate more, when individuals visit to these types of country where the conditions are harsh, they get aware about temperature, weather and other crucial things instead of reading books and watching films. For instance, in Antarctic region there is too cold they can learn about penguins like how they survive in these kind of weather . Additionally, it increase the economic growth as if plethora people are coming to visit then they have to pay for different amenities which are helping to live there. As a result the revenue could be increase and government can improve the infrastructure of the country.
On the hand, it has lots of drawbacks. firstly, health and safety risks are major concern. extreme environments can threaten the tourists well- being due to high and low temperature and landscape. Moreover lack of medical facilities as these area are not fully developed. For example, cold weather in Antarctic leads to hypothemia and frostbite. Due to scorching heat in Sahara, cause dehydration. Apart from this, increase tourists significantly impact the environment as it increase the pollution, disruption the wildlife.
In conclusion, although this trend offers educational value and economic benefits, it has some disadvantages regarding the health and nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: benefits and disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as educational value and economic growth for benefits, and health risks and environmental impact for drawbacks. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation of economic growth is vague, and the link between tourism and infrastructure improvement is not fully explored. The position is clear, but the supporting examples, while present, lack depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more specific reasoning or detailed examples to ensure the response is fully developed throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a progression of ideas, though the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'On the hand' (missing 'other') and 'To elaborate more'. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the essay follows a standard structure, which helps the reader follow your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases more naturally to connect your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'hypothermia', 'frostbite', and 'dehydration'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'shed lights on' (should be 'shed light on'), 'prospective' (should be 'perspective'), and 'plethora people' (should be 'a plethora of people'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To achieve a higher score, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('in Antarctic region'), subject-verb agreement ('revenue could be increase'), and sentence fragments ('Due to scorching heat in Sahara, cause dehydration'). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, especially verb forms and the use of articles, and try to proofread your work for these common slips.
