Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, while you mention 'small business' and 'tourism guides', these points are not fully explained or supported with specific examples. The introduction is somewhat unclear, and the conclusion merely repeats points without adding depth. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides a more detailed explanation of why these factors are significant. The response covers the prompt, but the lack of depth in argumentation keeps it at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is disjointed. For instance, the transition between discussing skin issues and water problems is abrupt. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'They are not taken any proper tools there very badly affected'. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'new places', 'badly affected', and 'good/bad'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'mach of heating place' instead of 'extreme environments' or 'high-temperature regions'. Some phrases are awkward, such as 'tried to culture cuisine'. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'remote locations', 'adverse conditions', 'cultural immersion', and 'economic stimulation'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('most people go to visiting'), incorrect verb forms ('they are not taken any proper tools'), and missing articles or prepositions. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, such as 'Help of small business to develop and earn money to the tourism and also tourism guides'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
