Student answer (Band 6.0)
Tourism is the centre of attraction for visitors. These days, many individual are interested in visiting sites where conditions are harsh to survive like Sahara desert where temperature is quite hot and the Antarctic where freezing weather conditions are measured. Although visiting these sites are important for the growth of the nation however could not ignore the negative impacts on the people which i will discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.
one of the most important benefit is that visitors are helpful for the economic growth of the particular nation. To explain it more, tourists purchase numerous things such as pay restaurant bills and buy tickets to see the beauty of that place, tour guides and hotels. Even the company can use that money to create more facilities and opportunities. Another benefit is that individual can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of the Sahara desert. For example, individual who visit Sahara Desert can watch the beautiful sand dunes, sunset view and traditional lifestyle. In this way they can interact and socialize with many multitudes and learn different cultural values.
on the flip side, There are many disadvantages of visiting such places as the journey of these kinds of places can be dangerous especially with the children because of extreme weather conditions in Sahara desert. To elaborate it, the temperature is very hot and can not survive without experienced tour guide. Same this thing with the Antarctic where freezing temperature is measured and without proper knowledge and tour guide it is difficult and they may suffer from many diseases such as fever or may be chances of lost. another disadvantage is that large number of visitors damage environment and disturb wildlife and they leave waste. In this way tourists try to spoiled the environment which is very harmful not for the health of the individual but also for the life of animals.
To conclude, although these places have beautiful scenery and remarkable natural experience but could not forget that it could be dangerous and expensive and harmful to our environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying benefits (economic growth, cultural interaction) and disadvantages (safety risks, environmental damage). However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the economic argument is a list of activities rather than a deeper explanation of how tourism impacts remote regions. The position is clear, but the conclusion is slightly repetitive and lacks a final synthesis of the arguments. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced examples and ensure that the link between the 'harsh conditions' mentioned in the prompt and the specific impacts is more thoroughly explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Same this thing with the Antarctic' or 'To explain it more'. While there is a clear progression of ideas, the transitions between sentences sometimes feel forced. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall flow is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors that affect the cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic descriptors like 'beautiful' and 'important' multiple times. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'many individual are interested' (should be 'individuals') and 'tourists try to spoiled the environment' (should be 'spoil'). While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'sand dunes' and 'freezing weather conditions', the range remains limited. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring that word forms (e.g., nouns vs. verbs) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many individual are'), missing articles (e.g., 'in Sahara desert'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'i will discussed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization at the start of sentences and the use of commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader and indicate a lack of control over more complex grammatical structures. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
