Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme locations. However, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly in the conclusion, which prevents a full development of the final argument. The word count is 231 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum requirement. While the ideas are relevant, the lack of a finished conclusion and the insufficient length significantly impact the overall task achievement score. To improve, ensure you complete all sections of the essay and expand on your points with more detailed explanations and examples to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay uses basic paragraphing and some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Moving towards'. However, the flow is interrupted by the incomplete ending. The logical progression is generally clear, but the mechanical use of transitions and the abrupt finish detract from the overall coherence. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and logically connected to the next, leading to a cohesive conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'adventure activity has become trend' instead of 'adventure tourism has become a trend', and 'demand good amount' instead of 'are expensive'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'boardam' (boredom) and 'undiscovered things such as fossil'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on simple, sometimes inaccurate, phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'those places which are considered as unsuitable places likewise Sahara' (should be 'such as the Sahara'), 'survive their' (should be 'survive there'), and 'last few years back in Himalayas individuals posed threat' (should be 'individuals were threatened'). Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors is high, which limits the score.
