Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the present period of time, people love to do the adventures and they prefer to visit the place which are full of thrilling and excitement. Sometimes they visit the places where climate and other conditions are challenging such as Sahara desert or the Antarctic. I would like to discuss the benefits and disadvantages of this type of tour.
To begin with, trend for going on tour and visit the different unknown places are increasing day by day. There are many pros of visiting new place such as you will come to know about the different culture, people and food. In addition, we can have a totally new experience. Some people love to do the tracking and outdoor activities so they may have an adrenaline-filled activities. If I talk about my experience, I went to the Andaman-Nicobar island in the last year. I had so much new activities such as scuba diving, jet ski and many more. In fact the trip was very memorable.
However, There are also so many cons of visiting this type of place where conditions are tough. Moreover, sometimes we have to suffer from a different weather than we used to live in our respective hometown. Although, we have to compromise with food too. Well, my advise to all tourist to do the research of the place before visiting any new place. we should draw the schedule in our mind that where will we stay, what kind of stuff we should carry with us etc. Due to this type of planning our trip will make easier.
In the conclusion, many people choose to go on tour where lots of difficulties and challenges but we should take care of ourself first. Furthermore, we should try to make our tour ease and safe.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting challenging locations. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention benefits like cultural exposure and adrenaline-filled activities, and disadvantages like weather and food, the points are not fully extended or supported with specific examples related to the prompt's examples (Sahara or Antarctic). Instead, you pivot to a personal anecdote about the Andaman-Nicobar islands, which are not considered 'difficult' or 'extreme' in the same context as the prompt. To improve, ensure your examples directly support the specific challenges of extreme environments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'However'. However, some transitions are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'Moreover' in the third paragraph, which does not logically follow the previous sentence. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The conclusion is somewhat abrupt and does not fully synthesize the points discussed. Improving the variety and precision of linking words will help the progression of ideas feel more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'do the adventures', 'do the tracking', and 'do the research'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'make our tour ease' instead of 'make our tour easier'. While the meaning is always clear, the range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions that would demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('trend... are increasing'), article usage ('the Andaman-Nicobar island'), and incorrect word forms ('my advise' instead of 'my advice'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction, such as the fragment 'Although, we have to compromise with food too.' To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate more consistent control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
