Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this technological era mostly people love to explore where they can face thrills such as desert areas in Africa, as well as low- temperature areas like Antarctica.

In the upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss about the pros and cons of visiting these places.

The advantage of visiting such a place is the environment, which is a site for sore eyes. For Instance, I Remember last year i went to antarctica with my cruise ship team it was such a pleasant memoery whenever i think about that i feel goosebumps all over my body the sky in the night vreally beautiful as well as the penguins also give you a motivation for keep going rather than being lazy.

Whereas the negative side also came: first, the risk of death in such areas is drastically high if a person's body can not adapt to the surroundings. Second, disasters can also occur. For example, recently in Nepal, A Flood came and took almost ten thousand people's lives, while three hundred tourists were from India and other countries Due to this reason, The family members are devastated.

In Conclusion, in my opinion, yes, folks should visit places like the Sahara Desert or the Antarctic if they have proper training and facilities; apart from this, a high-tech team lastly, if there body can adapt with the nature of that condition then yes they should go since we only live once.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. While the benefits are touched upon, the explanation is somewhat superficial, relying on personal anecdotes rather than broader analysis. The disadvantages are mentioned, but the example provided regarding a flood in Nepal is not directly related to the 'difficult conditions' of the Sahara or Antarctica, making it less relevant to the prompt. To improve, you should expand your arguments with more detailed reasoning and ensure all examples directly support the specific context of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Whereas the negative side also came' and 'apart from this, a high-tech team lastly'. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where ideas about the scenery and penguins are linked poorly. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your transitions between ideas are smooth and logical rather than abrupt.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'site for sore eyes' and 'goosebumps all over my body' are informal and not entirely appropriate for an IELTS essay. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'pleasant memoery' and 'the sky in the night vreally beautiful'. You rely on basic vocabulary to convey your points. To improve, focus on using more precise, academic vocabulary and ensure that your spelling is accurate, as there are several errors throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including punctuation issues, run-on sentences, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'mostly people love', 'if there body can adapt'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors that distract the reader. Punctuation is inconsistent, with random capitalisation (e.g., 'For Instance', 'A Flood') and missing commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and consistent punctuation before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
