Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is undeniable that in contemporary era, vast majority of visitors give preference to visit those places which has challenging situations such as the Sahara Desert or the Antarctic. It has some pros and cons for the tourists which will be elaborate before reaching to logical conclusion.
On the hand, visiting places which are dealing with difficult situations can be beneficial for the backpackers because they can learn about the reasons behind these issues and how people are suffering from those conditions and how they are trying hard to get out of those issues. Additionally, tourists can earn money by posting a pictures and videos on social media about that place because mostly tourists do not want to go to unusual places which are suffering with some issues such drought and floods. For instance, recently, one vlogger posted a video about Assam flood in India, and he got millions of views on that post. Tourists can get lifetime experience and good income by visiting these kinds of places.
On the other hand, places which are already dealing with dangerous conditions can adversely impact on tourists' life such as Sahara Desert where is a dearth of water and high temperature that can negatively affect tourist's health, who is from country, where temperature is under 0-degree Celsius. Furthermore, visitors can also get stuck, if the conditions get worse. For example, one of the renowned youtuber got stuck is Assam flood because his hotel where he had stayed got affected by the flood water and he got stuck for weeks over there.
In conclusion, even though visiting places with adverse conditions can be beneficial for visitors with knowledge and income but they should be aware about the disadvantages, and they should need to prepare themselves for the situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting challenging locations. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'earning money' via social media is a bit narrow and lacks depth. The position is clear, but the explanation of the benefits could be more nuanced. The examples provided, such as the vlogger in Assam, are relevant but slightly anecdotal. To reach a higher band, ensure that the arguments are more thoroughly explored and that the link between the 'difficult conditions' and the tourist experience is more robustly analysed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand', 'Additionally', and 'For instance', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing and flow. For example, the phrase 'who is from country, where temperature is under 0-degree Celsius' is slightly disconnected from the preceding clause. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall progression of ideas could be smoother to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary era' and 'dearth of water', which are used correctly. However, there are also some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'dealing with difficult situations' (instead of 'experiencing challenging environments') and 'posting a pictures'. The range is sufficient to communicate the main points, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the Sahara Desert', 'the Antarctic'), subject-verb agreement ('places which has'), and preposition usage. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'the Sahara Desert where is a dearth of water'. These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
