Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt (benefits and disadvantages). The ideas are relevant, such as personal growth and job creation for benefits, and health risks and environmental damage for disadvantages. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the point about 'survival skills' is mentioned but not explained in detail. The position is clear throughout, but the introduction is slightly awkward in its phrasing ('pupils' is used incorrectly to mean tourists/people). To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your examples with more specific detail rather than listing several points briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', which help the reader follow the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'In spite of the personal growth of the individuals' which does not logically connect to the following clause about job creation. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the concluding sentence is a bit run-on. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the management of cohesive devices could be more natural and precise.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choice or incorrect collocations, such as 'have a thrill to explore' (should be 'a desire/urge'), 'pupils' (used incorrectly for tourists), and 'guider' (should be 'guide'). Some phrases are repetitive, and there are minor errors in word forms, such as 'life threating' instead of 'life-threatening'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('this following trend have', 'places... has'), article usage ('a Antarctic'), and prepositional errors ('connect with wildlife'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and article rules would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
