Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many tourists visiting the places with severe conditions has become interestingly common. This has got both the advantages and disadvantages. This essay will evaluate key points of both the sides and then present a conclusive position.
Firstly, the most beautiful places are also the most difficult one. This is the beauty of the nature. Most of the people are very adventurous. They love challanges and travelling. For example, so many people have climbed Mount Everest, one of the highest peak in the world. The submit is very challenging, yet people has reached the top and made the world records. This gives people the sense of happiness and satisfaction. Another factor is people love to explore the places not only enjoy but also to study. The knowledge people get by exploring different places cannot be found in the textbooks.
On the other hand, it has many drawbacks. People have lost their lives visiting such places. For example, recent flood that took place in Nepal has killed alot of people who went for treking to see the mountains. People has disappeared from the Sahara dessert. We have also heard the story of people being killed by some animals.
To conclude, travelling to the places has its own pros and cons. while it is very important to travel to different places but at the same time it is also very necessary to do the proper reasearch and get some ideas about the places that we are planning to visit. This helps us to prevent from the extreme conditions and make our travel successful.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by identifying both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting difficult places like the Sahara or the Antarctic. The position is clear throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as climbing Mount Everest for personal satisfaction and mentioning trekking risks in Nepal or disappearing in the Sahara. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise or remain slightly under-developed, such as the brief mention of studying versus enjoying. The arguments are easy to follow and directly answer the prompt's requirements, aligning well with the characteristics of a Band 6.0 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introductory paragraph, body paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a concluding paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'Firstly', 'Another factor', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in abrupt transitions and occasional awkward phrasing in sentence connections. While the progression is generally clear, the repetitive phrasing and basic linking limit the score to a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'adventurous', 'satisfaction', and 'extreme conditions'. However, there are notable word-choice and spelling errors that detract from the quality, such as 'challanges' instead of challenges, 'submit' instead of summit, 'dessert' instead of desert, and 'reasearch'. Despite these errors, communication is not impeded and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main ideas, meeting the criteria for a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'This is the beauty of the nature' and 'Most of the people are very adventurous.' There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people has reached', 'People has disappeared', 'tourists... has become') and missing articles ('in the nature', 'make the world records'). Although these errors are frequent, they rarely impede overall communication. The command of basic structures is evident, but the persistence of basic grammatical inaccuracies places this response at a Band 5.5.
