IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Today more and more tourists are visiting places where conditions are difficult, such as the Sahara desert or the Antarctic.

What are the benefits and disadvantages for tourists who visit such places?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Tourism throughout the world is becoming popular. Some people want to visit the famous and convenient places while on the other side, some enjoy visiting the different challenging places like Sahara desert or Antarctic as an adventure. However, there are several pros and cons for tourists who want to go there.

Extreme weather conditions, improper access and exposure to wildlife are the factors which play significant role to promote tourism at that areas. In addition, expenses matters alot whenever anyony is planning to visit for recreational purposes. On the other hand, tourism at these places is enhancing economical prosperity and responsible authorities are introducing more fascinating activities to attract people. Therefore number of people, visiting this place is increasing yearly rather than the fear of difficult conditions.

In Antarctic regions, massive snow storms, dangerous animals and poor geographical distribution tend to prevent the people to go there and enjoy this tourist place. While in Sahara desert, extreme warm weather and sand storms experienced by tourists, are life-threatening challenges.

In order to avoid these terrible situations, different facilities are provided which are occupied with modern technology.

Moreover, The multiple challenging games are conducted in the festivals which are organised by government to promot tourism. Many people are excited to join these events enthusiastically.

In my perspective, tourism to these places is an excitable experience while keeping the difficulties on the other side. But there should be a balance in between pleasurable and accidental conditions to develop trust and interest among visitors.
