Student answer (Band 6.0)
Recently lots of travelers are visiting areas with harsh conditions such as the antarctic and desert. Although there are some disadvantages of this view, it also offers several advantages. This essay will examine both sides before determining whether the benfit outweigh the drawbacks.
Firstly, one major benefit of this is it offer unique and memorable experience. This is because people barely get access to such places and have little knowelge of such climate, geography and landscape. For example, a tourist visiting sahara dry region will see vast sand and experience dessert life. Therefore, this result in an advetureous moments. individuals will take pictures, play around and interact with their guide tutors on possible ways by which you can survive in such dry regions. In addition, this contribute to the economic benefit for local communities. Tourism lead to employment fir guides, drivers, hotel workers and other service providers. In other words, sand-covered region can create jobs for local indigene. On the one hand, they will get paid for the job and gain a means if income for themselves. For intance, money generated from visits are used to support business in remote areas.
One major demerits of this is environmental damage. This can attributed to increased tourism will distrup wildlife and damagw ecosystem. To illustrate, too many visitors in antarctica could disturb animals and contribute to pollution. Thus, whicg can threaten animals and make them loss a place to breed. This is clear that, it can be dangerous for a rapid increase in tourist activity.
Furthermore, it can cause health and safety risk. This is beacuse it harsh weather, temperature amd storms can expose visitors to harmful contaminants. For example, sightseer who are in sarraha may suffer from dehydration and extreme heat if they are not well prepared. This is considered why going for vacation can be dangerous one is not well taken care of. Further example,if an astham patient is not taken care of, they may be expose to allergic contaminants.
in conclusion, although there are are some advantages to this view point, i believe its drawvacks are more significant.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting extreme environments like the Antarctic and the Sahara desert. The writer takes a clear position in the introduction, stating that the drawbacks outweigh the benefits, which is supported throughout the essay. Ideas are extended with relevant examples, such as mentioning dehydration, extreme heat, and economic benefits for local communities. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise, and certain points are slightly repetitive, fitting the criteria for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, benefits, disadvantages, and conclusion into distinct sections. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in abrupt transitions and awkward linking like 'This is clear that, it can be dangerous' and pronoun confusion ('if one is not well taken care of'). Overall progression is discernible, but logical flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, placing this in Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'biodiversity', 'ecosystem', and 'contaminants', showing an adequate range for the task. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'knowelge' for knowledge, 'advetureous' for adventurous, 'indigene' for indigenous, 'distrup' for disrupt, 'damagw' for damaged, 'whicg' for which, 'loss' for lose, and 'sarraha' for Sahara. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional clauses and relative pronouns. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'Tourism lead to', 'moneys generated... are used', 'This can attributed to', and 'it harsh weather'. Punctuation is also weak in places, with comma splices and missing capitalisation ('in conclusion'). These errors persist throughout the response, though they rarely impede overall comprehension, aligning with Band 5.5 descriptors.
