Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today's era, mostly gen-z like to explore new tourist attractions that are diffficult to visit. There are certain places where the climate conditions are worst like deserts and sea side areas during the peak summer and winter time. So, In today's essay I'll write down the pros and cons for visitingsuch attraction during vacation time.
Firstly, There are alot of adventures things to do. People can get to know more about others culture, history about places like Sahara. For those who are living in span of cold winters, enjoys the hot environment such as foreigners. The person can learn more on how the living cycle of people works in such places.
On contrary, there are alot of consequences of visiting these tourist places. There might be less technology if somethings worst happens at any time. One of other major reason is language barrier for immigrants from other nations. Also, there are restrictions by government to unsafe places. For example, the very recent incident happens in Nepal from flood in which alot of people lost their lives. The area is surounded by rivers and glaciers. So, In my opinion, it is not safe for people to visit these attractions.
In the closure, I would suggest that there are many other place to visit that are safe and beautiful to see. Also, higher authorities provide extra safety to the tourists. People can learn their history and do activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the benefits and disadvantages of visiting difficult tourist locations, such as the Sahara desert, but the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on benefits mentions adventure and cultural learning briefly without fully elaborating on how these impact the traveler. Furthermore, the response falls short of the minimum word requirement, as it contains only 236 words instead of the required 250 words. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to extend their ideas more fully with relevant examples and ensure that the length requirement is fully met.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates some organisation with a clear attempt to structure the essay into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing pros and cons, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and some transitions feel mechanical or abrupt, such as starting the final paragraph with 'In the closure'. Paragraphing is used, but the internal logical flow between sentences needs strengthening, particularly in the transition between discussing the benefits and moving to the negative consequences. Improving the variety and accuracy of cohesive devices would help create a smoother logical flow throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'diffficult', 'worst' instead of 'worse', and 'adventures things'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'consequences' and 'immigrants', the lack of precision and recurrent spelling mistakes restrict the score. To improve this criterion, the writer should focus on expanding their range of functional vocabulary and ensuring correct collocations and word forms, moving away from repetitive or informal phrases like 'gen-z' and 'alot'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response shows a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex forms, such as 'For those who are living in span of cold winters, enjoys the hot environment such as foreigners.' There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues, incorrect prepositions, and punctuation slips, such as 'incident happens in Nepal from flood'. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To reach a higher band, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of complex grammatical structures with increased accuracy and better control over basic sentence mechanics.
