Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both benefits and disadvantages, and your position is broadly understandable: visitors can learn about different environments, while unfamiliar conditions may create difficulties. The example of seeing how people survive in the Sahara is relevant. However, the ideas remain general and are not sufficiently explained; for instance, you mention learning a country’s history but do not show how visiting a harsh destination provides this benefit. The disadvantages are also vague: weather suitability and lack of a guide are mentioned, but risks such as illness, injury, or limited access to help are not developed. The conclusion mainly advises preparation rather than summarising the benefits and drawbacks. The response is 16 words below the required minimum, and the limited development makes the task response incomplete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencers such as “Moreover,” “Apart from that,” and “In last” help signal movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is often mechanical, and some linking phrases do not clearly connect the ideas. For example, “There our many drawbacks as i dicuss in the above” does not add a clear point and refers vaguely to earlier material. The introduction also announces what you will discuss rather than establishing a focused line of argument. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main idea, explain it, and then give a specific example; use clear references instead of repeating broad transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “weather,” “history,” “condition,” and “challenges,” so the general meaning can usually be followed. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several spelling errors or inaccurate word choices make reading difficult, such as “sahara dessert” for “Sahara Desert,” “situtaion,” and “surving.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “the circumstances are more challenging” and “popular places” when discussing guidance in remote destinations. Build a more precise set of expressions for harsh travel conditions and their effects, and check spelling carefully. Using terms such as “extreme climate,” “remote location,” and “survival skills” would help you explain the topic more clearly and avoid repeating general words like “different” and “condition.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason introduced by “so that” and an example introduced by “For example.” However, sentence structures are limited, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “visitors our visting” and “many of individuals enjoying” do not form accurate clauses; “there is too much hot” also has an incorrect structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, with spaces before commas and full stops and several sentences beginning with lowercase letters. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “which.” Proofread each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and complete thought.
